What are Vitamins?

Vitamin Solubility
There are two main types of vitamins:
- Fat-soluble: Fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K, are stored in the body's fatty tissue and can accumulate to potentially harmful levels if taken in excess.
- Water-soluble: Water-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins B and C, are temporarily stored in the body and any excess is excreted in the urine, making it less likely to reach harmful levels.
Sources of Vitamins
Vitamins are found in a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains. However, some people may not consume enough of certain vitamins through their diet and may need to take supplements.
